Yesterday (25 Jun 2007) in Velehrad, bishops of the Byzantine rite from various European countries started their 3-day meeting. Nearly 30 hierarchs gathered under the patronage of Bishop Ladislav Hucko of the Czech Republic.HERE you can find some photos of the event.CZECH
Velehrad: Yesterday at 6.00 pm, the Holy Liturgy in the basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady and of Ss Cyril and Methodius started presided by Bishop Wlodzimierz Roman Juszczak of Wroclaw and Gdansk, Bishop Milan Sasik, the apostolic administrator of Mukachevo, hold a homily.
The meeting continues in the line started in 2005 by a pilgrimage of Byzantine rite bishops to Rome and subsequent meetings in Presov, Slovakia, and Zarvanica, Ukraine. The main aim for such gatherings is to return to the original roots of the Christian Europe and to express the unity with the Holy See.
Today (26 Jun) at 6.00 pm, the bishops will celebrate the Divine Service in the church of the Holy Name of Mary in the place of pilgrimage in Krtiny near Brno.
